So with a former WF-28 pump motor, long since replaced, will the MKIT32VS22 work with a century motor now in place? Is this adapter/controller compatible with Pentair’s Easy Touch control system?
Yes, the MKIT3VS22 will be compatible with the WF-28. The WF-28 is a 2 HP uprated, so the VS motor kit’s EVQ225 (2.25 Total Horsepower) motor will work.
The Pentair EasyTouch will be able to turn on/off the EVO V-Green motor, but it will not be able to control speeds. Century plans a control board upgrade compatible with automation systems available in a few months. The motor will be upgradable with a new board post-installation.
Which variable speed motor (Pentair or Century brand) will you recommend to replace my Pentair single speed Y56, 1.5hp Whisperflo pump’s motor?
There are at least two different versions of 1.5 HP WhisperFlo, the uprate and full rate options. What is the model number of the pump housing WF26 (011773) or WF6 (011581)? The MKIT32VS22 WhisperFlo VS upgrade kit will work with either but if your system is set up for the 1.5 HP uprate, you may not be able to run the pump at high speed.
The uprate 1.5 hp has a total HP of 1.65, and the 1.5 HP full rated has a total hp is 2.2HP.
