Our tie rod on our Hayward Star Clear Plus C1200 is rusty and wearing. We have tried everything to get this tie rod out. Pliers, pipe wrench, spray etc. Is there a trick I do not know about? Is the answer to put in a new filter (hopefully not) or will this tie rod okay for awhile.
please mail responds back to my personal email..
You should be able to unscrew the tire rod. If you cant it may be rusted and you will need to purchase a new filter. I would not use this one anymore as the rod could fail.

If you are unable to just unthread the tie rod then you will be looking at a new filter body. Depending on the age of the filter you may want to consider replacing complete & not replacing just the filter body & tie rod as it can be difficult even with the correct parts to retro fit old & new parts together.
