What is Service Factor?

Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

I have this motor, it just hums. I removed it and shaft spins freely. Could it be the capacitor ? And if so where can I get one.

Hi Jeff, It could be the capacitor, this motor uses the 25MFD 370Volt Run Capacitor (17586325).

I have a 7-193634-06 that I want to replace. You list the B130 here as a replacement for mine, however mine has an SF of 10.5 and you list 1.2 for B130. Will it still work?

If your part number on your motor is as you provided being the 7-193634-06 then this is the correct replacement motor. It looks the 10.5 number that you are referring to is actually the amps rating on the motor.

The Motor 56j Thrd Full 2hp (b130) is new and comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Shut off power to pump motor, loosened connections to filter & suction, removed wiring to motor & external ground, slid pump out, removed impeller housing, removed impeller from motor, removed motor from remaining housing, replaced seals & gaskets, installed impeller housing to motor, installed impeller, attached motor & housings to strainer body with new gasket, replaced wiring & external ground, replaced connections to filter & suction, turned power on & bingo, every thing worked. Note: all gaskets & o-rings were treated with the sealant. Flow to pool is much higher & pump runs with little noise!!!!!

Inyo Pools had the best price I could find on line for the B130 pump motor. Purchased motor and seal kit and it was at my door in 3 days. Easy replacement, just label wires or take a pic for reference. You're going to lose some water when you pull motor out so don't forget to prime the pump before you turn it on. I'm not a pool repairman, just an average diy guy with a few tools. Took me an hour and a half (lunch break included) to do the job. Was going to cost me 850.00 minimum to have a pool guy do it. Did it myself for 300.00 and change. If I can do this, anyone can. Thanks Inyo Pools!!! P.S. Great diy video!

When my pump motor went out I called a Pool Company that informed me when they got to my house that they would not repair my motor and only installed "Whisper Flow" and quoted a new system. I then called Leslie's Pool Supplies who wanted to sell me a whole new system for another substantial investment. I then went to INYO Pools and chatted with a rep giving him the motor specs which was in stock and quickly delivered. I had a handy man install and in the process saved several hundred dollars. I am a big FAN of INYO pools!

When pool motor failed I looked into having a contractor install this but the labor cost was high. INYO had a video on the how to install a motor and the were right on the mark. If you replace in kind and have a little mechanical sense it it easy

This motor was a replacement for my jandy jhp2.0 pump apparently they are discontinued and Alex from Inyo pools was very helpful, he originally was mistaken with the pump jhp and gave a me a $10 credit without me asking. Needless to say the pump fit exactly as it should and was very quiet. Very fast shipping also.
