Will this fit Hayward valve stem; SP-740-C? That number was off the part. Looks right!

When I take the top of the valve off, the gasket is glued to the top piece and not the base like in the video. When I replace it do I glue it to the base or the upper piece "SPX0740C Key/Stem Assembly"? What type of glue should be used?

Hello.  The Valve Seat Gasket for the Hayward DE Vari-Flo Valve model SP-740DE is attached to the Key/Stem Assembly. The replacement Valve Seat gasket should be installed in the same manner.  A recommended glue for this application is the Adhesive E6000.  Adhesive For Valve Seat Gasket - 81731  Please note;  Prior to installing the new valve seat gasket, the surface must be clean of all old gasket material, adhesive, dirt, and oil.  After installing the new valve seat gasket with sufficient time given for the adhesive to dry, lubricate the face of the valve seat gasket with a Teflon or silicone-based lubricant.

Simple repair.
0-Turn of the pump
1-Unscrew the 8 bolts in the 4-way valve
2-Remove gasket. It may be glued so try to remove it in one piece.
3-Clean the surface where the gasket is to be placed and make sure the surface is dry.
4-Add glue to the gasket and install the gasket in the valve. Ensure the gasket is press into the groves and let it sit for an hour.
5-Add lubricant to the gasket before you install the valve.
6-Tighten all screws back to the valve.
7-Start the pump.
8-You are done.

First I replaced my valve and then I lubricated the bottom so I could install the gasket.
