Yes, the PL1072 would be a replacement motor and part number 5064-16 would be the shaft seal.

Hi Simon, Yes this would be the proper replacement motor for your Hayward 3/4 HP Super Pump. We would also suggest a Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit when replacing your motor

I have a Hayward super pump C48K2DB11A9, 3/4 HP and a Hayward high rate sand filter S-244T. Can I go to a 1 HP motor and if so which one?

Hi, Kathy. The S244T filter has a max flow rate of 62 GPM, I would not recommend increasing the motor's hp.

Seals were burned up, so was the seal plate which caused the motor to seize up

Written on 11/19/2019 by Guest

First I cut power off to entire system at breaker box. Next I grabbed my 9/16 socket wrench with 3/4 extension and began taking off seal plate to free up motor.

Next I grabbed my 5/16 nut driver and took off back plate of old motor and new motor and from there I disabled the power wires. Next I grabbed a 7/16 wrench and placed on the shaft and began to take off impeller by unscrewing it counter clockwise.

Check your voltage to make sure your 110 or 220, remove old seals and housing and diffuser gaskets. After that I grabbed the new seal kit placing the mechanical seal in proper position and gaskets and began assembly motor back together. Very simple if you know what you're doing.

Once everything is placed in the correct order carefully grab diffuser plate and place on motor and set inside housing. Everything will be marked where you know where it goes, very easy, once inside housing line up screw holes and begin place bolts in housing by hand and then by wrench.

Once good and tight fill up with water close kid and fasten and power it up, should prime right up.

Unhooked original motor. Ordered new motor from you all. It was like having a direct replacement. Replaced motor without too much trouble. The pump needed some new parts so I replaced them and now the pump is working again! Thanks for your website and your help.
