My pool water pump is Jacuzzi 3/4 hp, model/SN is 7CYG / 94028883. The pump is pretty old, made in 2000. Can I replace the motor of this pump with 3/4 H.P Pool Motor Round Flange 56J - PL1072 ? Please let me know. Thanks, Jim

Yes, the PL1072 would be a replacement motor and part number 5064-16 would be the shaft seal.

Hi Simon, Yes this would be the proper replacement motor for your Hayward 3/4 HP Super Pump. We would also suggest a Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit when replacing your motor

I have a Hayward super pump C48K2DB11A9, 3/4 HP and a Hayward high rate sand filter S-244T. Can I go to a 1 HP motor and if so which one?

Hi, Kathy. The S244T filter has a max flow rate of 62 GPM, I would not recommend increasing the motor's hp.

I'm looking to replace a Hayward spx1605z1m / c48j2n131b1 motor (hums, won't come on) amps are 11.0/5.5, on a pump that is only 2.5 years old. This PL1072 is indicated as a replacement, but amps are a bit higher. Is that any issue? Also looked at the UST1072 Century a bit higher cost. I'm just confused at this point as to which one is best to purchase. Help?
Thanks

I have a AO Smith motor for the booster pump that runs the Polaris. It makes a low hum, but will not come all the way on. Does this sound like I need to replace the capacitor or will I need a new pump? Will this motor (3/4 HP Round Flange 56J Up Rate Motor - PL1072) replace the model that I currently have(AO Smith Cat B625, Part 8 -173840 -23, Type CS, FR N56CZ, HP 3/4, SF 1.5, PH 1, HZ 60, RPM 3450, Volts 230/115, AMPS SF 6.4/12.8, Time CONT, ENCL DP, Form KJM, Code K)?
Hello, This will be the capacitor you will need, http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352014032.htmYou can try replacing the capacitor and if that does not work, then you can change the entire motor.

Which tune up kit is needed for the PL1072?
Reply
Hi, Jodi. Tune up kits are not identified using the motor, they're identified using the pump housing model or name.
Reply
So again. If I am ordering the PL1072 then what else is needed. The site recommends a "tune up kit" but there are multiple to choose from.
Reply
Jodi. Please provide the model number or a picture of the pump housing, NOT the motor so we can identify which pump tune up kit you will need. You can also use our How to find the Correct Pump Tune up Kit guide for more info.
Reply
According to the paragraph under "details" a tune up kit consists of "seals and gaskets" THAT IS WHAT I AM ASKING..WHAT PART NUMBERS. Has nothing to do with the flange.
Reply
Hi Jodi, This motor can be used on about 10 different pumps and the tune kit is tied to the pump. Could you let us know your pump name? Common names would be Hayward Super Pump, Hayward Super II, Hayward Max Flo, Jacuzzi Magnum, etc.. Or if you want to take a photo of your pump then we could suggest the proper tune up kit.

I am ordering a PL1022
The serial # is not there anymore on pump housing. SP 1600 D is in the strainer lid. Is Go kit 3 the right kit?
Reply
Hi, Km. Yes, GOKIT3 or GOKIT3SALT is the correct tune up kit for your model pump.

I am trying to replace the motor on our Hayward super pump assembly. Currently has the Century UST1072, RPM 3450, FR 56J,MOD C48J2N131C1C. Will the PL1072 be compatible? I think my main concern is the C flange which has the threaded flanges for mounting to the assembly.
Reply
Hi, Bob. Yes, this PL1072 motor can be used as a replacement. You will also need to get the Super Pump Tune Up Kit - GOKIT3 or GOKIT3SALT.

I'd like to order the replacement motor and gasket that you mentioned (part no?). My motor has this pictured attachment on the business end. It seems only held on by two plastic strips. Should that be replaced too?
Hi Charles, your photo shows a part # on your impeller of SP2610C so you have a 1.5 HP Pump and will require a UST1152 1.5 HP Replacement Motor. Your impeller looks damaged so you will need the SP2610C Impeller and a Qty. 4 Motor Mounting Plate Screws to replace the zip ties. You will need this Super Pump Seal Kit I don't think you motor mounting plate needs to be replaced, you just need the proper screws. If you do want to downsize your HP from 1.5 to 3/4 HP then you can use the PL1072 3/4 HP Motor on this page and use this 3/4 HP Super Pump Impeller. You would still use the same screws and tune up kit as mentioned earlier in this reply.

c48j2n131b1 need motor replacement and seal kit
Reply
Yes this PL1072 3/4 HP Replacement Motor is the correct motor for the c48j2n131b1. We do always suggest a Seal Kit when replacing a motor. To determine the proper seal kit we will need to know your pump make and model information, common pump names would be Hayward Super Pump, ayward Super II, Jandy Stealth, etc.. To supply this information click the reply link below, also if you could send a few photos those are always helpful as well. If you send photos then take a close up shot of the motor label as well as a wide shot of the complete pump to include the pipes going in and out of the pump. To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos. Once we get any of this information we can make the proper recommendation.

The picture shows the specs for my pump. Can you tell me its flow rate? I have a 33,000 gallon pool.
The information shown in the label is the motor label and does not identify the make and model fo the pump. We would need to know the model number of the pump housing to compare flow rates.

I need a new pool pump motor. My current one is a Hayward Northstar Pump, self-priming. Please see attached photo and let me know what your suggested replacement part(s) are. Thank you
Your replacement motor is the model SN1072 and we recommend replacing the seals and gaskets as well. There are two Northstar series of pool pumps. The older generation and the most recent generation. One way that you can tell the difference is by looking at the design of the union connectors.

Hi, Michael. Unfortunately, it will NOT. You can use the PL1102 or the ST1072. I will need to know the model of the pump housing in order to determine which kit can be used or use our Replacing Parts For A Pump You Don't Have A Model Number For ... Blog.
