Hi, Replacing the 2in 5-spoke Diverter Gasket (271148) in the Jandy Multiport Valve (A0553645) can stop water from leaking out of the waste port when not in use.

I bought a replacement 2" side-mount sm20-2, the connectors to the DEL48 are too big. What type of connectors do I need to get to make this work. It says it is for 2" but the female connectors with the replacement will not fasten to the male connectors already attached to the DEL48. This filter is 10yrs old or more. Any suggestions? PS I was unable to repair the spider gasket I bought from you due to unable to remove the old gasket. So I bought a new valve thinking It is a easier fix.

Hi, Mark. Unfortunately, the SM20-2 valve is not compatible with the Jandy DEL48 valve. The only valve that is compatible is this 2" Valve Kit - A0553645.

I have a Jandy DE Filter - all in good working order. But I'm trying to locate the label plate for the top of the valve - it's worn away over the years - (Filer, Waste, Recirc, Backwash) \
Any assistance?

I'm sorry we don't carry these labels you may want to contact Jandy directly at www.jandy.com and they may ship one out at no charge.

I have a Praher D.E. SM20-2, is this Jandy an exact replacement?

Hi, Darrin. Yes, if you have the Jandy DEL Series D.E. Filter.

I have the Praher SM20-2 filter and it is leaking. Rather than attempt to repair the gasket I just want to replace the entire unit. It looks like the PVC fittings screw into the valve.
1) Does this look like the correct unit to replace what I have?
2) Can you give me brief description of how these couplers screw into the valve? Any cutting or gluing PVC necessary to swap out? Do I need new O rings? Does it come with couplers?
Thanks
Hi Mark, You will require this SM20-2 Valve when you click on this link you will see everything which is included with the valve.

Thanks but what if I have a handy DE filter. One answer below says if I have that this is the correct one. Mine has the piece on the bottom that looks more like this one than the link for the Praher you posted. Thanks

Hi Marc, Could you take a photo of the label on the side of your filter tank and post back to this thread. If you have a Jandy filter then most likely the model # should start with DEV or DEL. Simply click the reply link below to post your photos. Once I get this photo I will be able to make the proper suggestion.

Here are some photos I took of the valve this morning. I notice the leaking is coming from the top center where the valve is and also a small leak out of the top piece (the piece under all the screws). I guess my options would be to replace both the valve gasket and the main gasket at the top or replace entire valve. I do not think the spider gasket is leaking or an issue based on what I've read on your site as far as where the leak is coming from at the top. thanks
Hi Marc, My suggestion would be to replace the entire valve with this A0553645 Valve you could then keep your old valve on hand for parts if ever needed. Were you ever able to find your Jandy filter model # this would be on the Gray Plastic Filter Tank? If your filter says it is a DEL24, DEL36, DEL48 or DEL60 then this is the correct valve. If it says something else then please post that model # back to this thread so I can confirm the proper valve.

Sorry yes this is attached to the Jandy DEL 60 filter

Ok great! This valve works on the Jandy DEL60 but not the Jandy DEV60 so I just wanted to double-check. You should be all set to order this valve.

what is the difference between the BWVL-MPV and the A0553645 model vlave
Reply
The BWVL-MPV was used on the Jandy DEV and JS series filters and it is NLA. The A0553645 was used on the Jandy SF series filters, we can tell you the A0553645 has an 8" centerline on the connections. We are unable to confirm the centerline on the NLA unit.

Hey There,
I have an aging Jandy filter tank which developed cracks which leaked. Since they discontinued the DEL48 tank bottom, I purchased the DEV48 part R0466500 after consulting with pool professional. After trying to install, I found that the backwash valve that was on the original plumbing does not connect to the new DEV48 tank unions. Alignment is good but the new tank threads are larger. Is this valve necessary or are there some adapters I can buy to connect it back up?
Hi Bryce, unfortunately, there are no adapters to be able to utilize the old multiport valve, and would need to change that.

I have a Pentair SM-20-2 Multiport Valve that has gone bad. Attempted to replace spider gasket with no success. Still leaking out of the Backwash and returning DE to the pool. I'd like to replace the valve with this one, My filter is an older Pac-Fab Nautilus DE Stainless Steel. Will this valve work?

Hello Rich. Attached please find the Pac Fab Nautilus Stainless D.E.exploded parts diagram. The Valve, Sm W/plumbing 2" P.f. D.e. (sm2-pp2) 27507-200-000 is identified as a compatible multiport replacement for the SM20-2. The MPV SF-S Series 2" - A0553645 is also a compatible replacement for the SM20-2. The Praher Universal Multiport Valve 2" FPT (Sand/D.E.) - SM-20-A0 will replace the SM20-2 but does not have pre-plumbed connections.
