I have a Hayward Super Pump 1HP C48K2N143B1. The bearing I need replaced says (SKF 6203-2RSH/GJN.) I can't find this bearing.
Based on bearing codes, I have a 6203:
2RSH: (Bearing with two rubber seals)
GJN: (Bearing with high temp grease -30 to +150 ºC)
The closest I've found is: 6203-2RSHC3GJN
The C3 is a bearing with internal clearance greater than normal
What does that mean?
What bearing do you suggest? I assume double sealed and high temperature grease is a good thing.

Good morning Alan, You are looking for 6203 Bearings. You will need two of them one for front and one for the rear. You will need to have a bearing puller to remove the old ones and a pipe to put the new ones on. There is a video of this in our How-to guides at inyopools.com . Please make sure you can remove your through bolts and seperate the motor before ordering. Sometimes the motors are in bad shape from corrosion and you are unable to rebuild because of this.

Good morning Robert, Yes this would be the correct part. Make sure you are able to remove thru bolts. If there is a lot of corrosion this will be difficult. Also, one of the main reasons bearings go is that your shaft seal has failed and allowed water into the housing. Make sure you replace this as well.

Reply
Hello, for the motor C48K2N117A4 matches with a Motor 56c Keyed Full 1 Hp - B122, now if you want bearings for that motor is Bearing, 203 (62032rs) (Single) for the OEM and Bearing, 304 Ntn-6304-ll (6304) for the SE bearing. For the seal and gaskets we would have to know the model of pump you have, which is normally located near the basket housing of your pump.

We added a picture of the run capacitor (RD-35-370 ) 35-125-1135, the seals are based on the pump wet end & not the motor & we do not have a breakdown of the correct bearings for the motor. Generally, the techs in the field will pull the bearings & tell us what the size is.
It seems that nobody has bearing information for this particular pump. I contacted Century/Regal Beloit, and they were able to provide the information. The two bearings the B748 / B2748 motor uses are the double sealed 6203 and 6304. From what I gather, they are generally listed as 6203-2RS and 6304-2RS.

Per you request I am attaching photos of the pump installation. I have ordered and received the B841 motor and 5270-1 bearing but note in your parts breakdown that I did not see a shaft seal. In your how to video of changing the bearing and seal it shows a shaft seal. Since I have a leak in the pump to the motor I want to make sure I have or need a shaft seal that I don't seem to see depicted on the parts breakdown.
The Tune Up Kit Pentair/Purex Whisperflo - GOKIT32 or GOKIT32SALT is recommended for the Whisperflo Pump. You will need a thin layer of Clear Silicone RTV applied to the Seal Plate for the metal backing of the shaft seal to bond with the plastic, without the sealant it will leak.

We will need the CAT# off of the Century or AO Smith motor label to review for the bearings. The number 7-187563-02 is a part number that could come from other manufacturer motors and should not be used to cross-reference bearings as the manufacturers could use different bearings. We may not have all bearing numbers to provide and may need to remove them from the motor first to check the numbers on them. Hello. Century Motor Bearing, 203 (single) is the replacement bearing for the AO Smith motor C48J2N131B3. Bearing replacement requires a quantity of two (2). It is recommended that the motor shaft seal, pump gaskets, and O-rings be replaced as a part of this rebuild. These items are specific to the manufacturer make/model of the pump itself. Please provide this information and/or pictures of the pump inclusive of the inlet and discharge plumbing and a recommendation for these replacement parts can be provided.

Hi Kurt, Unfortunately, we do not have confirmation on the HSQ220 on which bearings are used. We believe it requires 1 6203 Bearing and 1 6204 Bearing. However, it could be 2 6203 Bearings. We would suggest purchasing 2 6203 bearings and 1 6204 Bearing as when you remove the old bearings you should be able to match the bearings up to see which you require, by going this route you can have an extra bearing on hand or return the unneeded extra bearing.

What bearing do I need for a Century 1-177450-03 and what other parts would I replace on a wfe-4 during this service. Thanks Robert
Reply
Hello, the bearing you will need will be the Pool Pump Motor Bearing, 1.5748" OD - 6203; this will be the bearing for both the service end and the opposite service end of the motor. You will want to separate the motor from the housing to replace the bearings, and every time you separate the motor from the housing, you will want to replace the shaft seal-- the shaft seal you want would be the Pump Shaft Seal, Heavy Duty PS-1000-style for Saltwater Pools - PS-3865. Other than the bearings and seal, that should be all that you need.

I have a Hayward Sp32950vsp pump and I'm certain the bearing needs to be replaced. Makes a very loud whining noise. Also, the problem was confirmed by a friend who has been in the pool business for many years. My question is, where can I buy a replacement bearing? I'm unable to find a part number. And, is there anything else I should replace when I take this pump apart?
Reply
Hi Chris, we do not recommend replacing the bearings in the variable-speed motors unless it is done by a professional. These are permanent magnet motors and the strength of the magnets makes it very difficult to replace the bearings without a fixture to hold everything. We recommend choosing a GOKIT or Tune-Up Kit for your pump which includes all new gaskets and a new motor shaft seal for a leak-free installation when you replace the motor.
