What is Service Factor?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/11/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

Good afternoon. The high pitch noise is the bearing starting to go. I can not say how long you have before it gives out. It could be a matter of days or weeks. The bearing are starting to stick which in turn causes more heat.

Possibly a start capacitor or insufficient voltage being delivered to the pump. look for burning on connecting wires and see if the cylindrical cap behind the end pack is leaking fluid.

I am not sure how you have it wired, however, it must connect only to a grounding-type receptacle protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Do NOT bury the cord. Locate cord to minimize abuse from lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and other equipment. Contact a qualified electrician if you cannot verify that the receptacle is protected by a GFCI.

Hi Rich, the correct replacement motor for your motor part number 193824 is the 5111-88. When replacing a pool motor we do suggest a Seal Kit. Could you send us a few photos of your pump so we can suggest the proper seal kit? If so then please take a wide shot of the complete pump to include the pipes going in and out of the pump. To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos. Once we get those photos we can make the proper recommendation for your seal kit.
