When should I change the sand in my filter?
Reply
You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

We have had the same Jacuzzi filter for 15 years, and don't know how long previous owners had it. We need to replace it and I believe theL192C-7C will be correct for us, however I don't understand all these dimensions. our pool is 22,000 gallons. Do you think this is a good one for me to purchase? I cannot start our pool even though I have cleaned and filled it. We did buy a new Hayward pump last year, thinking that might be the problem. I think the filter is just to old. Please help

Hi Marilyn, for a 22,000 gallon pool I would suggest the next size larger filter which is the Jacuzzi Laser L225-7C. The larger filter will ensure that you do not put too much stress on your pump and will mean longer time between filter cleanings.

I have a 1 1/2 horse power pump. Will this work with the 160 top Mount Sand filter?

For a 1-1/2 HP pump we would suggest the 22-1/2" Jacuzzi Laser Sand Filter.

Is the L192-7C the same as the 190L, I need to replace a 190L thats leaking.

Yes, The Jacuzzi Laser L192-7c (94089192) it the newer model of your 190L.

Hi Linda, The Jacuzzi Laser Sand Filter, Top Mount, L192-7C, 19", 1-1/2" Valve (94089192) will be the correct replacement for your 192L sand filter.

I'm looking for a filter that is around 50 gpm. Would the Jacuzzi, L192-7C, 19", 1-1/2" have the right gpm?
Reply
I purchased the 19" Jacuzzi filter. What horse power pump do I need?
Reply
Tammy- The size of the pump you need will depend on the size of your pool. But with the Jacuzzi Laser Sand Filter, Top Mount, L192-7C, 19", 1-1/2" Valve Part # 94089192 can accept up to a 1.5 HP pump.

What setting is waste when vacuumING
Reply
Hi Terry, If you are vacuuming heavy debris, you would set the valve on "DRAIN" to have the debris go out the waste port. If vacuuming light debris, you could set the valve on "FILTER" to save pool water.

Hi Sylvia, Unfortunately we do not carry the silica sand as it is too expensive to ship. You should be able to pick this sand up at any hardware store.

I have a 18X33 above ground pool with a 1 HP pump motor. I need to replace the sand filter. It is Jacuzzi Laser L160. The dimensions are close to the L192-7C. Is this correct?
Reply
The different between the two are that the L160 is a 16" and the L192 is a 19" sand filter so it'll be able to take a higher flow rate if needed.

Thanks in advance

Hi Seth, This filter can be used with an 1 hp pump if the flow rate is around 46 gpm.

What are the power requirements (in volts and amps) of this filter? Would it work connected to a 2hp pump?
Thank you!

Hi Charlie, Filters does not require a power source and this unit can be used with a 2 hp pump if the flow rate does not exceed 47 gpm.

will this handle my 35000 gallon swimming pool
Reply
This filter is too small for a 35,000 gallon pool. I would recommend the Jacuzzi Laser Sand Filter, Top Mount, L192-7C, 19", 1-1/2" Valve - 94089192. This will accommodate pools from 29,700 gallons to 39,600 gallons.

Bought the L192C this year and has done great! Preparing to shut it down for winter and did my last backwash. I had some sand come out through the discharge hose. This has not happened before. Is that normal or could there be an issue?
Reply
Hi, David. Inspect the unit to make sure everything is in place. it could be that the water pressure forced a little bit of sand up through the diffuser.

Hi, Do you deliver to the UK please? Also, I need just the top mounted valve for the L192C-7 Jacuzzi sand filter. Do you sell this separately?
Thanks
Michelle
Reply
Hello Michelle- We do ship certain items to the UK. Keep in mind that the cost of shipping will include the cost of shipping this from the MFG to our office in Orlando, FL and then out to you. As for this entire filter we can not ship that to the UK, but the valve assembly we can. The valve for the L192c-7 would depend on whether or not you have a clamp on valve or bolt on. For the clamp on you would want the Dvk-7c Valve, Clamp Type - 39263020K, if your valve bolts on you would need the Valve, Dial, 7 Position - 39262803R.

Is the Jacuzzi L192C overkill for 12000 gl pool w/ 1 1/2 hp Purline pump,(2"valve) 12 feet head. Should I just stick to the L160?. Thanks!

With the flow rate you would actually need the next size bigger so that you do not damage your filter, part number 94089225.

My 10 year old Jacuzzi sand filter L192 began releasing sand into my pool last year. Can you tell me what the problem is?
Reply
Hello Bob, There is a broken lateral that would cause sand to come back into your pool.

I have a Laser 192 Jacuzzi Sand Filter. How do you get the laterals up, so I can remove sand. The laterals do not rotate.
What are my options for getting the sand out.

Hi, Terry. You first will have to remove the sand before you ca remove the laterals. You can manually scoop the sand out or use a shop vac.

Hi, I have a filter L192C. I put 200 lbs sand in it. Was it the right amount ? Also, I am sure I didn't break any laterals. Since I changed sand, i have sand in the pool. What's the reason do you think ? Thanks.
Reply
Hi Jean-Paul, 200 Lbs. is the correct amount of sand for the Jacuzzi L192-7C Laser Sand Filter. If you added the sand prior to adding some water to the filter tank then you may have broken laterals when adding the new sand. Typically broken laterals is the culprit for sand back in the pool but the only way to check is to remove the sand and inspect the laterals.

The label on the top of the filter that tells me the 7 operations has faded after one season. Can I get a replacement label? Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Hi, Paige. The decal is not available as a separate part, you'll have to replace the DVK-7 Cover - 39262605R. You can try to keep the filter in a shaded location.

I have to replace the sand in my pump. The model number is L192C-7C from what i read here, I need 200lbs of sand. Do I put water into the pump before adding sand? After all the sand is in place, do I fill the pump with water?
Reply
Hi, Meghan. You can fill the tank halfway with water before adding the sand to the filter. It is not necessary to fill the tank up with water after the required amount of sand has been added. Instructions are available in our How To Change Sand In a Sand Filter and How To Install a Pool Sand Filter guides.

hi I have a Jacuzzi laser L192c the system has been working good for 10 years now replaced the sand with glass once
just started to have a problem....I think the multi valve spider seal is passing because when its stops I can here air sucking in and when it restarts it blows the air back into the pool do you think its the spider seal thanks.
Reply
Hi, David. The problem that you're experiencing is not caused by a bad diverter seal. It is caused by an air leak on the suction side of your system. Our How to Identify and Correct Air Leaks guide will assist you in resolving this issue.

192-7C Sometimes there is a small leak out the backwash pipe after switching to Filter
Are the spider orings in the Diverter that might be the cause? It is not leaking around the exterior of the Diverter
For 3 years there seems to be a dust on the bottom of the pool after the pump runs. I originally thought algae (mustard although it was a dark brown in colour),
then I thought it might be the spider orings causing this. I did change the sand 6 months ago but that did not stop the problem
Reply
Usually, water leaking out of the waste/backwash port is a sign that the spider gasket within the valve itself has gone bad. You would need to provide us with the valve model number so we can cross-reference that gasket for you. As far as debris on the floor, yes that could be dead algae that sand filters sometimes have difficulty filtering or merely dirt of some sort. Sometimes placing the valve into the waste position then vacuuming the sediment out is a good approach.

I have the Jacuzzi Laser L192C-7 as listed. During this opening season, I quickly found out my standpipe cracked and am in need of a new one. Does the L190 standpipe assembly fit the 192? I have a laser 192 sand filter. I am obviously doing something wrong . I put the shark vacuum in to clean the bottom and when I turn the handle to the filter setting the water is being drained out of the pool through the backwash hose. What am I doing wrong? Also dirty water is being sent to the pool through the jet . Please help.

Usually, this is a sign that the spider gasket has gone bad. You can replace that but we would need to know the model of that multiport valve so we can locate that gasket for you. If you cannot locate that, you can always email us images of that valve to upload@inyopools.com so we can identify it for you.

I have a Jacuzzi Model 190 laser pool filter, it seems when the pump is running and my filter online in the filter position there is a little water that is being discharged to the drain line, so water is letting by while in the filter mode, maybe other positions as well. Not sure what is causing this..?? Thanks...Dave

This is a sign that the spider gasket has gone bad in the multiport valve on the top of the filter. It can be replaced. You would just need to know the model of the valve itself and we can advise on the specific gasket needed.
