How do you determine whether you need a 1 1/2" or 2"vari flo multiport valve. I ordered a 1 1/2" valve order #6500069288, p/n SP0710x62.

Hi Richard, The Valve size is based off of the plumbing size you have. The SP0710x62 valve has 1-1/2" ports.

Where should I measure to determine what size is my valve before ordering new one

Hi Steven, The best bet would be to give us the model # of your filter. There should be a label on the tank of your filter and the model # can be found there. Also if you could take a look at the plumbing going into the filter is this 1.5" or 2" there should be digital writing on the plumbing or the fittings which say 1.5" or 2". Or you could send a few photos with this information. Simply click reply link below to supply this information or photos.

I need to replace the spider gasket and O ring gasket for this generic valve 27517-204-000. What are the part numbers for them?

Does this model replace the sp0710xr50 model?
Hi Jerry, No this model does not replace the Hayward sp0710xr50 model. Unfortunately, all retailers are currently out of stock on the sp0710xr50 valve as there has been a shortage with the manufacturer on this valve. You could go with this Hayward DE Slide Valve as a replacement however you may need to do a little re-plumbing. Another option would be to replace your Upper Handle Assembly and your Spider Gasket as this typically will eliminate any leaking. If you go this route you will also need this Spider Gasket Adhesive to install the Spider Gasket.
