The upper half of my STA-Rite System 3 Model S7M120 filter cracked from seam to valve. I am confused what the replacement part # should be and if there is more than 1 size. The part number of the existing filter housing is 25021 0200S

Thank you. We will know for sure soon! I ordered from your company yesterday. Thanks for the quick response. I wanted you to know I sent the same question out to about 5 different suppliers. You're the only reply and that is why your company got the order. Regards, Jack Alexander

Bare hands
After about 15 years my tank lid had been through enough pressure cycles it was finally cracking. I sealed it up from inside with tape from Flexseal with full knowledge we're on borrowed time. Three years later the inevitable occurs - from outside as the pressure increases you can see the crack expand and contract as the solar heater engages. I researched and found that I could buy a replacement tank lid and Inyo Pools supplied same.
Repair was easy:
1. Cut power and isolate solar system.
2. Crack the system open to drain the filter.
3. Pull off all clamps and remove the lid.
4.Transfer the pressure gauge from old to new lid.
5. Remove and clean the O-ring; set it aside for new lid install.
6. I did a quick clean of my cartridges; that's just me, but not necessary for the new lid.
7. Clean the O-ring seat.
8. Lube and set the O-ring; my old one (replaced a few years back) was fine so reused.
9. Set the new lid with guage face visible, place clamps and gradually tighten same in a star-pattern to ensure even clamp application.
10. Open the impeller/basket "bucket" and prime the pump with five gallons of pool water, and close that opening.
11. Throw your pump switch and check for leaks.
12. If you find leaks cut power and carefully make minor clamp adjustments; this can be a trial and error process to eliminate leaks, but you'll get there if even after a few days - be patient.
13. Sit back and enjoy the fruits of your own labor and the GRAND you saved buy the simple DIY job.

(5 out of 5 stars) S7M120 REPAIR
Reviewed By: gecmanager from Tomball, Texas ()
Pros: easy to install; light enough to handle in confined space
Cons: Life is shorter than foreseen
My original upper half split open after 11 years of use. The original installer had predicted 15 to 20 years of use. Once split it cannot be repaired, but it is easy to install. Pricey!!!!!

(4 out of 5 stars) Ok it works fine so far. Packaging was not too good. Missing sticker too. ...

It works. The box it came in when they sent it to me was beaten up badly. Ripped a little. Smashed on one corner. The part was just kind of rolling around in there. Guess the part is ok, it's still working. Was missing the model number sticker for my model filter S7M400 too. So I just used the old weathered sticker that is barely readable. $800 price tag.
