I currently had a 1 HP Hayward Pump (can not read the entire old label) and my question is if I can purchase a 1.5 HP pump to replace it and if so what would be the advantage of buying a 1.5 HP over a 1HP. My pol is rather small (15K gallons)and 7 roof solar panels. Also in the features you list that both the 1HP and 1.5 HP can support solar heaters but in your question and answer page you answer someone that it would NOT be suitable for solar heating system. Would you please clarify. Thank You

Hi Mike, For solar panels on a roof we suggest a high head pump and this pump is a high flow pump so I would suggest something like the PureLine Pure Water 1.5 HP Pump which would do a better pumping water up to the roof.

Specs: 3/4 HP, 115/230 volts, max/load 11.0/5.5 volts volts, ,55 kw, 3450 rpm.
Since this pump is 1 hp, would work ok with My filter, which is a Hayward S210T that states max 40 psi 2.7 bar.
There are 3 elbows & about 3 ft of pvc between pump & filter.
Thank you!!!!!
Reply
If the 3/4 horse power was installed there per the builder then I would leave it as such because that may be what is best for the filter due to the flow rate. Now if you really want to step up to the 1 hp then you will need to calculate the feet of head to make sure that the filter can handle the extra flow rate.

1) Will this do the job & be a great replacement?
2) Should I keep the HP the same @ 1 HP? Since this is the size they engineered for my pool....or should I install the 1.5 HP....is that too much?

Hi Greg, The PureLine Pure Flow series pumps a little less water than the comparable HP in the Sta-Rite Maxi II. Hi, John. This unit will have to be hardwired, the electrical whip will have to be purchased separately.

Hi, Bernd. This PL1600 model pump does not have the same performance. In order to confirm if this model pump can be used, we will need to know the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of your pool.

will this pump replace an old Hayward, model SP-1607-Z1-M
Need a seal kit for the motor, is it sold separately? Thanks

Seal kits are sold separately from motors however, this is a complete pump so you would not need a seal kit when purchasing this.

Will this be a good replacement for my Hayward model C48D31AO4 (SP2707Z1M) pump #SP2707X10?
My motor is going out,the pump is OK but is 8 years old and I think it would be wise to replace both as a drop in unit if I could afford the cost. What would you recommend ? Thanks

Hi, Sally. Unfortunately, with the info provided, I'm unable to confirm if this pump will be a suitable replacement. You will need to provide us with the model or name of the pump housing or the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of your pool.

Hello, I can look into this for you. What is the brand and the model of the entire pump you have?

I have a Hayward SP-2807 X 10 pump. The PL-1600 is said in FAQ to be a direct replacement for it. However, when I check flow rates, the Hayward pumps 75 GPM at 30 ft of head; while the PL-1600 specs show only 40 GPM for 30 ft of head.
Won't I be moving roughly only half the amount of water for the same time and energy cost with the PL-1600?
