what is the size of the light fixture
Reply
Hello Ryan, there is a size picture located on the Pure Colors LED Bulb & Pentair Amerlite Pool Light Fixture Kit 12V 50' Cord - PL5821. Light face measures 10" and from the front to the back at the cord is 6 1/4".

is the transformer inside the lght fixture.
my old light fixture is 12vplts and I am thinking that the transformer is inside the light fixture. Don't see any transformer outside form the switch to the junction box is 120volt
Reply
Hi, the transformer is not inside the light. If you have 12V then you would have an external transformer, is it possible you have a 120V light?
Reply
Beside this kit what else is need it? do I need a niche and a transformer for this light?
Thanks.

Hi RC, If this is new pool construction or you don't already have a light niche in your pool then you will need a light niche. Here is the Light Niche for Concrete & Gunite Pools and here is the Light Niche for Fiberglass and Vinyl Liner Pools. Since this is a 12V light you will need this Pool Light Transformer.

Our pool is about 2.5 years old and we have a Pure Colors LED light which has stopped working. Is it easy to replace and do you have to drain the pool?
Reply
Hi. It is not hard to replace and draining the pool is not necessary. You can watch our How To Replace a Pool Light Fixture video and guide.

Hi, can this replace a model 78458100 lamp?
Reply
Hi Alejandro, Yes the Pure Colors will replace a Pentair 78458100 however we are showing that the 78458100 is 120V and this product is 12V so you will want to get the 120V Pure Colors Light Fixture
Reply
Thank you! But if I wanted to switch to a 12V system this would be the option right? What else would I need for that to work?

I have a Pentair Pool Light assembly. U-638643 I need to replace this Assembly. Is this LED Light assembly the same size as mine? Also My assembly is 120v. Where does the transformer mount?
Reply
Hi, Michael. The number U-638643 is not the fixture model but the UL ID Sticker. We will need the series number of the fixture or the niche model number.

Will this light replace a American sanitary 41290?
Reply
Hi Dennis, I'm sorry but we have been unable to confirm if this will fit the American sanitary 41290 light. You could order the light and if it does not work then you may return the light, just make sure that you keep the light and packaging in good resellable condition.

I have an American Products CN-5 light housing and just wanted to make sure this set-up will work. Current old light bulb is R-300BC 12V 300W. Also, do you offer shorter cords for cheaper? I need 30' max. I probably only really need 15' as I only need to get to the diving board junction box.

I have a pac fab hatteras light niche will this light work in it.

We are doing a new build with Pentair equipment, including EasyTouch 4 automation system. Will we be able to control this light fixture with EasyTouch in the same way we would be able to control Pentair lights?

Hi. Yes, you will be able to control this light using the EasyTouch to turn the assigned Light relay On/Off.

I have a Hayward Duraniche SP607 and PX300 transformer but no light fixture yet. Will this Purecolors LED fixture kit work with my set up?
Reply
Hi. You can use this LED Fixture Kit with the SP607 niche.
Reply
I bought this kit, and the Amerlite fixture came with incandescent bulb already installed. The Pentair manual says I must replace the fixture gasket whenever the unit is reassembled. So, do I now need to order a new gasket in order to replace the incandescent bulb with the LED one? Just to be clear, the fixture and LED bulb are all new as part of this kit.
If a new gasket is required,tThis should really be specified when ordering, or the kit should come with the extra required gasket.
Thanks
Reply
Hi, Carl. A new gasket will not be required if the fixture has not been submerged in water.

With a new concrete pool do I need anything else besides this light fixture kit to have a light installed?

Hello, You will also need this Pentair Pool Light Niche to install this light in new pool construction.

After installing the 120v Pentair fixture and the PureColors LED bulb, can I upgrade my light switch to a controller? If so, what model is comparable?

Unfortunately, there is not a controller compatible with the Purecolors LED bulb as of yet.

can control of this product (PL5821) be converted from switch to a remote controller at a later date?
do you supply transformers and if so, how much?
Reply
Hi, there is not a remote control option for this light so it would need to stay on a light switch. We do offer a transformer and you would require this PX300 Pool Light Transformer.

What is the exact dimensions? I had an old light fixture no led and a big niche hole. I want to know if it’s the exact fit for my kidney shape pool. I had bought one light but they send me a small one. It was a spa not a pool.

Yes, the PureLine PureColors LED Bulb & Pentair Amerlite Pool Light Fixture Kit 12V 50' Cord will replace the Pool Amerlite 100 Watt 15 Ft Cord 12 Volt - 78411100

How does the light change If it has no remote? Does it flash different colors or can I set it for one color?
Reply
Hi, Vimaris. You will change the colors by using a single pole light switch. Switching it On/Off then On will cycle through the solid colors and shows.

I need to replace a jandy led color, it is a 120v system what do suggest.
Reply
Yes the PL5821 PureColors Light Fixture will work as a replacement for the Jandy Light. The great thing about the PureColors is if the bulb ever goes bad then the bulb is replaceable by doing an easy bulb swap at $150, unlike the Jandy where you have to replace the entire fixture at $1,000 if the board goes bad. If you have multiple lights in your pool and/or spa then they will all need to be PureColors if you would like them to be on the same color rotation.

Will this replace a Hayward Colorlogic light

Hi, Thomas. Yes, it can based on the model of your niche. If you have a Hayward Niche, you will need a Universal Light Ring Adapter.

I need to replace my Hayward 12V Colorlogic light model LPCUS11050. I have a 10k gallon playpool. I would like to replace it with a new kit that includes the light housing, Led Bulb, and 50ft cable. The niche hooks the light at the bottom and secures with a single screw on top.
Thank You.
Andrew, yes, the PureColors LED Bulb & Pentair Amerlite Pool Light Fixture Kit 12V 50' Cord - PL5821 will replace your existing Universal ColorLogic Pool Light 12V 50' Cord - LPCUS11050

AFTER INSTALL ON A NEW POOL HOW CAN I CHANGE COLOR ( REMOTE ?) CAN I CONNECT TO HAYWARD ON COMMAND FOR COLOR CHANGING ?

Hello, The only way to change the colors on the Purecolors light is flipping the light switch on and off, if connected to an automation system, you will have to turn the light on and off to change the colors.

I currently have an SP0524SLED50 light for my in ground pool. It is connected to a Goldmine Controls Aqua Logic panel. Would this fixture fit in the existing niche and be compatible with the Aqua Logic panel?
Thanks, Mack
Reply
If you have a deep niche and not the niche designed for the Colorlogic series then yes you can sue this light using the Universal Adapter ring for the niche, however, as far as controlling the light you can only use the on and off light circuit to cycle through the light colors. You would not be able to specifically select a color at your control box.

Hi, Scott. We will need to know the make and model of the niche and or the fixture to locate a compatible replacement. The fixture and the niche have to be compatible or an Adapter will be required.

My pool is fresh water. Will this pool light work as a good replacement?

How surprising. Just bought this house. Everything is upside down.

Every so often we come across spa light versions actually in the swimming pool. Those fixtures are usually 5-6 inches across the face. Not so strange anymore when we see that. :)

I have what I believe is a Hayward SP555 nitch, will this fixture fit? The nitch appears to be a little too large, there are two mounting holes 10 inches apart.

Hi, Norm. Unfortunately, this fixture will not fit into an SP555 series niche. The Hayward DuraLite Fixture can be used.

1. My current light is dead which is a pentair (very old) Can I sue this as a replacement. The entire fixture was corroded?
2. DO you perform installs too?

In order to suggest the correct replacement light, we will need to know the specific model or the serial number of the light fixture.

Also in the notes it says do not use with an electronic transformer , what is the difference between this and a regular old type transformer ? Any info would helpful . Thank you

Hi, Joe. Yes, this Amerlite fixture will fit the 05161 & 05163 forming shell. As for the note regarding the use of an electronic transformer, I was not able to confirm that. A transformer electronic or otherwise can be used as long as it meets the proper requirements.
