If you switched to the pureline prime you would have to get an adapter for the ports because the Pinnacle has 1.5" and the Prime has 2" ports. Other than that, the Prime would be a good replacement for the Pinnacle.

I ordered a pump housing o-ring, and the shaft seal for my "Water Ace" pump from you. After installing the seals, I still couldn't get the pump to prime. I thought I was in over my head so I called a pool repair company. he said I had an air leak in the pump housing and for $570.00 he would put in a Water Way pump. Does the ceramic face in the shaft seal face the pump or the basket?

my pool holds about 26000 gallons of water , should I use a 1.5 hp pump ?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/11/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Ken, Normally a 1.5 HP would be the properly sized pump for a 26,000-gallon pool, however, there are other factors to consider like if your pump will also be powering spa jets, water features or solar. Any of those factors may require you go with a larger pump. You will also want to make sure your filter can handle the output of the pump. On your filter there should be a GPM rating and this pump will output roughly 60 GPM under normal plumbing condtions, so you will want to make sure your filter can handle at least 60 GPM.

A  Answered on 5/18/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Jake, Typically for a 30,000 gallon pool you would use a 1.5 HP pump and this 1.5 HP PureLine Prime would be a good choice. You just want to make sure that your filter can handle at least 75 Gallons per minute, you should be able to find the GPM information on your filter tank.

Hi, Bob. The Whisperflo pump is a high-performance pump and the PureLine pumps are not. A  Answered on 5/31/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi MT, I really like the PL2605 1.65 HP Variable Speed Pump, this pump is great because it gives you the ability to ramp all the way up to 1.65 HP for things like vacuuming, spa jets, water features, etc.. but you can also really dial the pump down for general pool filtration and that is where you will see all of your savings. With the PL2605 Variable Speed you are looking at saving between 50% - 70% on your operational cost vs. a single speed pump.

Hi Michael, Could you give us the information off of the motor for your current pump like HP, Amps, Volts, SF, Frame, Model #, etc.. Also could you give us the pump make and model information, common pump names would be Pentair Whisperflo, Pentair Challenger, Jandy Stealth, etc.. To supply this information click the reply link below, also if you could send a few photos those are always helpful as well. If you send photos then take a close up shot of the motor label as well as a wide shot of the complete pump to include the pipes going in and out of the pump. To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos. Once we get any of this information we can make the proper recommendation.

Would this pump work for replacement to my Pentair challenger pump? See photos - I believe it is 1 1/2 hp. The bearings are screaming on. Y existing pump so I want to replace ASAP. The housing is leaking as well and it is more than 12 years old so I would like to replace the pump.

Hi Joe, Thanks for the photos those are quite helpful! The 1.5 HP PureLine Prime would be a great replacement pump for Pentair Challenger, the plumbing ports on the PureLine Prime are not in the exact same spot as your current pump so you will have a little re-plumbing, but nothing major.

I have a 16x32 in ground 3ft at shallow end to 8 ft at deep end. Have a Hayward super pump cant read the model motor is a 3/4 hp but not the original motor and not sure if its the correct size for the pump. looking to replace not sure if I need the PL2601 or the PL2602? Have a Hayward S-200 sand filter rated at 55gpm max working press 50psi. I also use a Polaris 360. I feel the pump I now have is to small and or the motor is not the one rated for my pump so Im looking to replace the whole pump

Jack for your 16' x 32' inground pool with S-200 sand filter I think the PureLine Prime Pool Pump 1.5 HP - PL2602 would be a great replacement for the existing Hayward Super Pump.

Would the PureLine PL2602 be a drop-in replace for the Heyward SP3210X15. Plumbing in the same spots?

No, this model pump is not technically a drop-in replacement for the Tristar but the motor total horsepower is compatible.

Hi, My Jandy ProFlo 1.5HP just died. I saw that you do not carry this model anymore. I was not really impressed as it lasted only 3 years. The tech said it was because I was using it with a salt system. I switched back to Chlorine but I need a new pump. Is the PureLine a good choice for replacement? My pool is inground 10X20 and the filtration/pump system is ~40 ft away from the pool. thanks!

what pressure reaidng is normal for this pump?

These pool pump do not have pressure ratings however, the filters that the pumps are pushing the water through do. On average, the filter pressure range is between 5-20 PSI which does affect the pumps aswell.

I purchased the PL2602 in 2016 and it just died on me. Can you suggest a replacement?

Hi, Kathleen. With the pump only being 4 years old, you can replace the B229SE motor and Seals without having to replace the entire pump. If you want to replace the entire pump, the Waterway SMF 1.5 HP Pump - SMF-115 is an option.

Lennox - I purchased the motor you suggested but when the equipment was taken apart, turns out we need a new filter as well. I was on chat and was told I can't purchase a pump without a motor. Is that true? The motor was unpacked and installed so I can not return it.

Hi Kathleen, if you still need to set up a return for the motor please contact our customer service team using our online chat feature as we may be able to set the motor up for a warranty for a refund so you can then purchase a complete pump if need be.
